after some fiddling and modding, I came up with this box today - which met with total approval from the nearest family members... here's a pic so you can decide.

I will work on this challenge this afternoon - what great colors !!! Very elegant.

I was curious about the weaving... I have done a lot of it with Japanese Paper, which is more maleable than the "normal" paper, put is does make it easier in a lot of ways... the thing about weaving is taking a picture that does not look skewed... Take my word for it, it is all well aligned - after about 12 pictures, I gave up and chose this one.

I've been playing with the new Supernova Fine glitter and the Sticky Cut Letters and having a ball today, experimenting with colors and layouts... here's a peek - I quite like this new glitter! The colors are fabulous, all of them - and they so sparkle!!!

here it is... Love it - simple and beauiful colors... as a matterof fact, I am making another one with the same color theme right now... maybe I will post it later.

Can't seem to take a decent picture tonight... need to get the lightbox inside - will do it tomorrow - meanwhile, believe me ... these are baja breeze DSP, sahara sand textured CS, as well as so saffron and more mustard - as well as watercolor paper (white), clear rhinestone and baja breeze flower fusion too.

One for the teacher

My son has been very blessed this year - his 2 teachers are totally amazing! Mind you, for ME to say that, they must be out of this world...

This is the card I sent one of them for mother's day (unfortunately, I did not take a picture of the other one... too much hurry !!) I used a little trick with the chocolate chip ink so it would look more "earthy" on the kiwi kiss cardstock (olive oil) - and I so love the sentiment from the Sweet Little Sentiments hostess set. I am really enjoying working with the kraft cardstock this fall - I think it fits the mood ! The Inspired By Nature stampset also helps. I love this simple card!

Hi there !

Convention was great! Had a lot of fun with the gilrs I met... Drove to Canberra with Fiona and the sightseeing was breathtaking !! In case you do not know, I am from America, living in Australia only 3 years)...

Back home, I had tons to catch up with -not to mention my main laptop. where I have pretty much EVERYTHING is back to the supplie for some TLC. refused to turn on!! - but been busy playing as well !

I have a friend coming over to spend the day , so I will be posting more later... for now, I made this simple teabag card to give it to her today... she is nuts about tea, so I thought it would be cute...

I used not quite navy, craft and vanilla cardstock for the outside and one of the Bella Bleu sheets for the inside pockets. I also colored the white tafetta ribbon with tea (ha ha !!) and added two silver brads to the spine to make sure the pockets would not fall off. For the front, I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set, glitter andnot quite navy ink.

This little token was inspired by a japanese tea bad holder I bought zillions of years ago at the Epcot Center.... I think next time I will rotate it 90 degrees so the ribbon will tie on the top...

I hope she likes it !

All my share cards are ready - including recipes and plastic protectors - how exciting !!!

I hear it will be cold in Canberra - but nothing compared to the -30F from back home in New England... ah, I miss home in the winter !!

and a play with the new DSP colors and some clear embossing...

... just realized that very soon I will have to put a site together for myself... blogger has limited capacity for pics and I am sure to use it all up soon :o) oh well. Nothing that Joomla cannot handle...

I am pleased to report this card - ribbon and all - was a raving success !! I think the colors (and maybe the paper clip?) gave it a little "office look" !?!?

wow, vacation, Easter Show, work - things are super busy around here! but... since some of my material arrived so I carved a couple of hours to play !! :o)

Here's what I came up with... when using stamps and cutting around them, they do come to life - especially the Stampin'Up® ones !! seriously, they are so beautiful and elegant! Not to mention the new InColors... yum ! (hope the pics are not terrible, not at my main machine and this one does not have the full version of Photoshop)...

Lots of food, family and fun... and cleaning afterwards !

Have not had a lot of time toplay with my stamps, but got to thinking...

It seems that I have developed a style... Looking through my cards I notice that my background in architecture does influence what I do with colors and shapes... I tend to prefer clean layouts, with one centerpoint only, and I prefer to play with textures and matching colors - not so daring as someI see around the web.

I wonder - has clean become boring?

I have found myself forcing a bit more here, a tad more there. Is it the right thing to do?

Hmm, I am not so sure.

I would rather give you a card that says something about me - than follow some sort of trend and lose my identity.

So, clean it is.

I was given 12 little pots of glitter as a gift today - so I decided to make a card using them, with a little bit of encouragement to this gorgeous girl (who needs some right now...)

So I used the Animal Crackers giraffe, glittered chipboard stars and Crystal Effects to create the Tempting Turquoise star... Tempting Turquoise ribbon on Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Lovely Lilac

cardstock... I also used Crystal Effects on the giraffe's spots and the star she has in her mouth to give it some dimension... - and she absolutely loved it !

Can't say I don't like it meself !! (forgive te light... when I took the picture, the glue was still wet, so I could not get it up in the light box...)

wow ! interesting colors for this challenge ! here's my effort...
I used the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set with Versamarker, basic black ribbon and white embossing powder on basic black cardstock for the 3d one. Love that detail! Hope yu all also like it...

My first INKlings challenge - April Cyberstamp

whew, what great challenges we had today - courtesy of Dani !!

So, this is my effort for the first one: using Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery and Taken with Teal.

As you know, I was in the mood for Pun Fun today and there it is - but the picture does not do it justice, really! ...

For the second challenge, we had todo some extreme maths calculations that would result in a number which should correspond तो a page of the 2009/2010 Stamping Up! catalog from where we should copy a layout . My result was 71 - so this is my version of said page - adapted for the papers and accessories I have at hand.

As for the 3rd challenge... no time tonight ! But I will definitely have it done and post here as a surprise !!

It has been a lot of fun - and interesting to actually learn what goes into a project you see finished (and had no idea it could be so laborious !!)

Nana sent my son a Happy Easter card with some pocket money as a gift... what a great opportunity (or excuse, as you wish !!) to make a card using the new In Colors, eh ? And I had to use my favorite - Pacific Point...

I used the Premium Design Papers in Pacific Point (catalog page 135), Boho Blossoms (page 152)flower and Scallop Circle punches (same page).

Added some Dazzilng Diamonds Glitter (page 145) on the edges of the scalloped circle and Chunky Sprinkles (same page) in the middle of the flower.Lots of love on Confetti White paper (page 130), and Nana will get some warmth in the mail very soon !!

Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point (my favorite), Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango.

I cannot help but imagine how beautiful the Pacific Point blue will look fabulous with Whisper White !! How about with YoYo Yellow ?

Ach... I should be sleeping... but how can someone sleep with a dozen new stamp sets and 6 new color ink pads sitting alone, 3 rooms down the hall.

Humph.

I was greeted early in the morning with two big boxes carrying all kinds of goodies from SU! today!!

YaY!

It was a lot of fun to mount the new stamp sets and sort out the new In Color papers (WOW ! Pacific Point is goooorgeous !!)

Unfortunately, my son has asthma and it is not happy with the season change at the moment - so I am spending some time with the bubba tonight...(neither of us slept much last night... so the intention is bed early tonight) but should be ready and set to play tomorrow!

I think my first play will be with the Animal Crackers Stamp set.I bet I can make some cute Easter cards with this stamp set, and the Bold Bright card stock... Hmmm... Hehe... they are soooo sweet !

I wanted to create a "happy" card today... did not have much time but Real Read ink and ribbon, Wild About You! stamp set and Certainly Celery cardstock made it... wildly happy.

Love the birdie.
Something else interesting about this card - it managed to turn out girlish, in spite of the croc. Ha!

Picking up and dropping off... has been my day today - but last night was another interesting chilly evening - I had to try a couple more Crystal Effects® colors and tecniques... The full effect of the glaze is really hard to picture but this card turned out very feminine and soft looking. One of my favorites so far...

Sage and Almost Amethist go so well together, and compose a very elegant look...

I cannot get enough of the Crystal Effects and its possibilites ! although you may not be able to see it quite acurately - it is tricky to take a picture of what I see here. Crystal Effect does give the stamped images a distinct depth and changes the image completely...

Friday's mail brought me a store-bought card sent from a beautiful friend who now lives in England. She sent me her recipe of Rhubarb Crumble that I swear - it is the most heavenly crumble there is...

On my behalf, I can declare my banana cake is quite sought-after. The ingredients are easy to find and it is, indeed, a delicious side to a cup of hot herbal tea warming up a chilly Autumn afternoon.

So, here - it will be going to the UK on Monday - held by an elephant, dressed in Real Red.

Rainy and sunny, all at the same time - but here in Terrey Hills the chilly air is a definite indication that Fall is here!
A very very dear friend sent me a couple of Stampin' Up! Design Paper sheets from America, and I have been thinking and trying to decide what to do with them. Today was just the day -

How about beautiful pouches for candy, cookies or even popcorn ? You don't even need glue !

Just the gorgeous Stampin Up! coordinating paper in these amazing colors!!
I used Washington Apple - as well as my beloved Circle of Friendship stamp set in Real Red and Only Orange - and the same color paper to make the flower cuts.

I think I am going to use these pouches for Easter as well, filled with chocolate eggs for the adults.

Hmmm - now I will have to come up with an Easter version ! Yay, more fun for tonight !!

Especially when you mix the incredible Stampin' Up® colors with it - I had a few Thank You notes to send and mixing the Fall colors and leaves with Crystal Effects (as well as some other experiments) seemed to be the way to go...

While waiting for much needed material to arrive, I was playing around with the stamps last night and felt I should try to use some Autumnal colors to celebrate the season. While my supplies are limited, I saw I could put together a couple of simple cards that remind me of the beautiful "New England change" when all Maple trees transform the scenery into a spectacular quasi-painting in all shades of red and orange...
And Stampin' Up® has just the colors to represent the "change" !
